All fitness levels can work together in this motivating calorie burning class

  • Spinning at Malvern Active

Helps to improve stamina and aerobic capacity.

Spin those wheels hard in our Group Indoor Cycling class.  Performed as an anaerobic exercise, pulling energy from reserves and building up muscular endurance over an extended period of time. However, there are also aerobic benefits. Group Indoor Cycling classes include both endurance and cardiovascular training.

Heart health is an obvious benefit, as is lung capacity. As the body works harder it will learn to work on controlled breathing. This may help with anxiety and help lower the heart rate when in a situation where physical exertion begins to take the breath away.

Group Indoor Cycling with Sarah (Wednesday at 6.15pm)

Our fantastic personal trainer, Sarah Shaw runs a progressive programme every Wednesday at 6.15pm with altered workouts each week. Working with heart rates and moving from endurance to intervals and hill work, high-end endurance and finally finishing at the end of 12-16 weeks with race night where we work at high intensity for the full 45 minutes! Sarah also provides a recovery session - gentle social spin followed by core and stretching specific to cyclists. Recovery sessions differ to most spin classes and are aimed at road and mountain bikers who are looking to improve their fitness for recreational or competitive cycling outside.  It is recommended that people have a heart rate monitor but not vital for those just starting out.

Health benefits:

Improved stamina & endurance, calorie burn and strengthening.
