Background

Malcolm brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the Malvern Active gym floor. With a passion for anatomy and physiology, Malcolm is a trained posture, movement, and mobility specialist. So not only does he offer personal training for all levels, but also postural assessment and corrective exercise programmes, which aim to improve poor posture, aching joints, muscle weaknesses and poor mobility. 

"As a level 4 movement specialist I understand the importance for the body to have correct alignment and sufficient mobility and flexibility. We all know that everything is connected so if something gets out of shape it can impact on other areas. A collapsed arch of the foot can result in discomfort in the shoulder. Weak, tight, inactive or overactive muscles will result in incorrect movement patterns. Dominant muscles will take over and put unnecessary stress on the muscle, joint and connective tissue and cause pain and discomfort in the neck, shoulders, back or hips. If this is not addressed, every time that movement is performed the problem will worsen.

I've helped many people of all levels to be free of joint pain, walk tall and have more confidence and even pursue their athletic goals.
